Perle P1730 Router Details
The P1730 is a multi-protocol Ethernet router with 2 card slots for optional LAN and WAN modules to support future network growth and Virtual Private Networking (VPN) to give users the ability to securely connect branch offices over the Internet in future releases. Modular LAN and WAN interfaces allow users to change the configuration of the P1730 to meet evolving network requirements. Modular LAN and WAN interfaces allows the P1700 series to support dual high-speed LAN and/or WAN connections, with either a leased line or BRI module or dual leased line WANs with one LAN or dual BRI modules with a LAN connection. The P1730 ships with an auto-sensing 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN interface as standard. The P1730 offers Frame Relay capability over leased lines at speeds up to 2.048 Mbps. With support for up to 128 DLCI's over dual high-speed links, the P1730 can be deployed as a central-site router for corporate Frame Relay networks supporting other Perle Routers or LinkStream 2000 branch office routers. P1730 provides the tools to allow users to implement a security plan to prevent unauthorized access. These include NetSAFE firewall, PAP and CHAP. The P1730 can be configured with an optional 56/64 Kbps CSU/DSU, which can be used to connect remote LANs over dedicated digital services. These interconnected LANs form a unified wide-area communications network and function as a single, seamless network. With the DSU/CSU interface, the P1730 provides an integrated bridge/router/DSU/CSU solution, offering ease of use and assurance of compatibility.
